Taking Over the Streets of Fashion with Durability

When Kikuo Ibe accidentally broke his father's pocket watch, he did not expect to be the founding father of a timepiece infamous for its durability. Since 1983, Casio has adorned the wrists of many even when they are taking over the streets of fashion with the new G-SHOCK GM-5600. Streetwear notable for its baggy clothes, sneakers and chains have now taken a premium turn in the fashion scene. However, to exude the urban youth persona is to complete the look with a wristwatch. With this, Casio introduces the fusion of stainless steel and the G-SHOCK classic resin strap on their GM-5600 and GM-5600B to be your new bling. Mix and match for the street look will be a walk in the park with the available designs – the sparkling stainless steel bezel of the GM-5600, the simplistic black ion-plated steel bezel and dial of the GM-5600-1DR or a flare of army green and camo motif with a black ion-plated steel bezel on the GM-5600-3DR. For a premium twist on this street timepiece, the square-faced bezel is also forged up to 20 times. While street fashion may be laidback with its baggy shirt, Casio never holds back its durability. The tough DNA of the G-SHOCK still goes strong for this new timepiece series with the shock and water resistance of up to 200 meters and timely features of a 1/1000 second stopwatch, multi-functional alarm and a 24h countdown timer. With the illuminated dial, you will never miss a second even if the streetlights aren't as bright. You will also never be weighed down as the watch is as light as a feather with a total of 73 grams and a shell diameter of 49.6 x 43.3 x 12.9 mm. An early GM-5600 purchase includes a manga signed by the founding father himself that tells his dream of creating an unbreakable watch. Persistent in continuing the urban look, Casio collaborates with local streetwear label Not For People and sneaker customizer SBTG for a special edition that will be released in early 2020.
