The management and staff of Pullman Jakarta Central Park hosted 25 Indonesian veterans during an Independence Day celebration last month to show their appreciation for those who have dedicated their lives to the nation. The war heroes have distinguished themselves in various theaters, including Operation Dwikora in 1964 and the East Timorese conflict of 1975.
Pullman Jakarta Central Park general manager Rhys Challenger opened the proceedings, followed by a moment of silence, led by Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Darmadi. Other prominent veterans who attended the event and shared their experiences included Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Bambang Supriyanto, Mrs. Sumartini and Lt. Col. (Ret.) Sunarko. A traditional jaipong dance added color to the event.
