Since its release in 1952, the Breitling Navitimer has been one of the world’s most beloved chronographs. With some brilliant additions to its Navitimer 1 family, Breitling is introducing a true watchmaking legend to a whole new generation.
The Breitling Navitimer is arguably the most iconic of all Breitling wristwatches. This twentieth-century classic remains popular in the twenty-first century, more than 65 years after it was first launched to meet the needs of a growing commercial and recreational aviation market. Thanks to a circular slide rule that was able to perform a range of calculations relevant to aviation, the Navitimer was adopted by pilots and especially favored by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). Instantly recognizable, this timeless chronograph looks as stylish today as it did when it was first designed.
Navitimer 1 B01 Chronograph 46
The Navitimer 1 B01 Chronograph 46 makes a bold style statement with its impressive 46 millimeter 18 k red gold case. It is available in two configurations: one with an anthracite dial and a black alligator leather strap, and another with a silver dial and a brown leather strap. The watches are equipped with Breitling’s legendary bidirectional rotating bezel with a circular slide rule. The hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova®, which makes them easy to read in all lighting conditions.
Both interpretations of the Navitimer 1 B01 Chronograph 46 have contrasting subdials (the “inverse panda look”), an indication of the extraordinary movement inside. They are powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, an automatic movement that delivers a power reserve of more than 70 hours. These COSC-certified chronometers feature transparent sapphire casebacks.
Navitimer 1 B01 Chronograph 43
The Navitimer 1 B01 Chronograph 43 has been crafted in four compelling versions. The most elegant of these features an 18 k red gold case with a blue dial on a black alligator leather strap. Equally eye-catching is a stainless-steel and 18 k red gold model with a Stratos Gray dial, which is also presented on a black alligator leather strap.
There are also two robust stainless-steel versions: one with a blue dial and a black alligator leather strap, and another with a silver dial and a classic Navitimer stainless-steel bracelet.
Like all Breitling chronographs powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, the Navitimer 1 B01 Chronograph 43 watches feature contrasting subdials. The hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova®. Each Navitimer 1 B01 Chronograph 43 model is water-resistant up to 3 bar (30 meters/100 feet). These outstanding chronographs are equipped with a bidirectional rotating bezel fitted with Breitling’s iconic circular slide rule.
Navitimer 1 Chronograph 41
Fans of smaller watches will be drawn to the Navitimer 1 Chronograph 41. It is available in steel and 18 k red gold with a red gold bidirectional rotating bezel, presented with a black dial and a black leather strap. There is also a striking stainless-steel version with a silver dial and brown leather strap.
The movement at the heart of the Navitimer 1 Chronograph 41 is the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 13 chronometer, which is wound automatically by a unilaterally acting ball-bearing rotor, delivering a power reserve of more than 42 hours. These watches feature a screwed stainless-steel caseback.
The hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova® and can be read easily through the Navitimer 1 Chronograph 41’s convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. These watches are water-resistant to 3 bar (30 meters/100 feet).
Navitimer 1 Automatic 38
The Navitimer 1 Automatic 38 is part of a legendary watch family, but it has its own personality, harking back to the 1950s when Breitling introduced the Reference 66, a three-hand Navitimer. There are no chronograph subdials, so its dial is refreshingly clean.
This new member of the Navitimer family features a newly designed beaded and ratcheted bidirectional bezel, lending this timepiece a distinctly elegant look. Its easy-to-master aviation slide rule has long been associated with Breitling’s Navitimer.
The Navitimer 1 Automatic 38 features a stainless-steel case, a bidirectional stainless-steel bezel, and a screwed caseback, and comes with either a black or blue dial and matching alligator leather straps. This model is also available with a silver dial in a stainless-steel version, with a luxurious 18 k red gold bezel and a brown alligator leather strap. A Breitling Caliber 17 powers the Navitimer 1 Automatic 38. With its dual-acting ball-bearing rotor, it offers at least 40 hours of power reserve and is COSC-certified.
