Montblanc Donates One-of-a-kind Timepiece to Only Watch Charity Event

Only Watch, now entering its 8th edition, is a biennale auction of unique timepieces created by some of the most renowned watchmakers that have collectively raised over 40 million Euros to date.

This year, Montblanc will be joining forces with Only Watch and donate the 1858 Split Second Chronograph Only Watch 2019, which combines titanium and blue agate.

As an international watchmaking charity event, the auction will be bringing together watchmakers from both the large groups and small independents who all express their creativity and generosity through great timepieces crafted with care and precision.

All of the funds collected from the sale of the watches will be donated in their entirety to scientific and medical research working on neuromuscular diseases in general and on Duchene muscular dystrophy in general.

“We are honored to be part of this amazing charity event, that stands up for such a special cause, uniting some of the world’s leading watchmakers,” says Nicolas Baretzki, Montblanc CEO.

“The Biennial charity auction established itself as a celebration of watchmaking traditions and expertise, giving collectors and connoisseurs the opportunity to own a truly unique watch, while supporting this honorable cause, “ Nicolas added.

The watches will embark on a world tour on September 25th 2019, starting at the Monaco Yacht show in the charity’s hometown, and then continuing to Dubai, Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taipei, before the final auction in Geneva on November 9th 2019. The auction is organized in partnership with Christies and will take place at the Four Seasons Hôtel des Bergues in Geneva.

The Montblanc 1858 Split Second Chronograph Only Watch 2019

Precise, legible and robust, the legendary professional Minerva watches were conceived for military use and exploration. Inspired by these historical timepieces, the Montblanc 1858 product line pays tribute to the Minerva Manufacture’s heritage.

For the first time, Montblanc unveils a wristwatch which combines a 44 mm case in full satin-finished titanium grade-two, the hand-crafted Montblanc Manufacture Monopusher Chronograph calibre MB M16.31, a brand-new matching Sfumato alligator strap and a special dial made of degraded blue Agate, a natural stone, giving a unique blue appearance – all those elements making it the ideal watch for collectors.
